Tuesday is election day in Missouri and several issues on the ballot will be decided locally. One of the big issues is a use tax on the ballot in Oregon County. The use tax is for online purchases and is already being collected. This is not an additional tax. The issue will simply decide if the money collected will stay in Oregon County or go to Jefferson City. The tax would mean the county would get an additional estimated 10 to 15 thousand dollars a month. The money could be used for infrastructure in the county.
