A man who allegedly pointed a rifle at a woman and her son has been charged

21-year-old James Dylan Charles Johnston is charged with felony aggravated assault. Johnston allegedly pulled up in a car, pointed the rifle at the two, then put the rifle down and attacked the son, hitting him several times in the face. When the mother tried to pull Johnston off her son, Johnston allegedly attacked the Mother. Johnston admitted to hitting the son but denies pointing a rifle at them.  Johnston allegedly told police the son had a pistol in his hand and that’s why he hit him. Johnston did admit that there was an AR-15 in the trunk of his car. There were two juveniles in Johnston’s vehicle. Johnston also faces charges of third-degree misdemeanor battery, and two counts of second-degree misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor, and reckless driving. He was taken to the Stone County Arkansas Jail and his bond has been set at $50,000
