The Sheriff’s Office reports that Scott Barnett II was arrested after deputies went to the residence in Mountain View to serve a warrant and shots were fired from the residence. Barnett allegedly refused to exit the home and the Howell County S.W.A.T. unit was called along with the West Plains Police Department Strategic Response Team and a crisis negotiation team. CS gas was deployed into the residence in an effort to get Barnett to exit the home. Barnett exited the home and was arrested without incident. Barnett was taken to Howell County jail and booked on Howell County arrest warrants for domestic assault and stealing more than $750, He was also placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of unlawful use of a weapon.
