The Missouri Supreme Court ruled a judge had exceeded his authority in a contempt of court case against the Oregon County Clerk. The Court said that 37th Judicial Circuit Judge Steven Privette had overstepped his authority and he should have used other legal means to compel Oregon County Clerk Betty Grooms to resolve an order to produce a document outlining county incarceration costs to be reimbursed by the state.
