This week is EMS week and the American College of Emergency Physicians in partnership with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians is proud to announce the theme for EMS week is “Where Emergency Care Begins”. The annual EMS week campaign, which recognizes the professionals who provide emergency medical services nationwide, runs through Saturday. Oregon County Commissioner David Stubblefield signed a proclamation designating May 21-27 as Emergency Medical Services Week in Oregon County. Today is EMS Safety Day, Wednesday is EMS for Children Day, and the Oregon County Ambulance will be at local businesses in Alton and Thayer. Thursday is Save a life day Oregon County EMS employees will celebrate at the mammoth Spring State Park Pavilion with dancing, games a movie for the kids, and a hot dog and smores roast. Friday will be Ems recognition day.
