Baxter Health recently received re-designation by the National Infant Safe Sleep Certification Program as a Gold-Level National Safe Sleep Certified Hospital. Baxter Health was first recognized as a Gold-Level Certified Hospital in 2018. This recognition is awarded for Baxter Health’s commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep in the Women & Newborn Care Center.
The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created by Cribs for Kids®, a national infant safe sleep organization. Cribs for Kids is dedicated to preventing infant sleep-related deaths due to Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and accidental suffocation.
This national recognition is based on comprehensive criteria, as well as the implementation and reporting of requirements. Baxter Health is recognized for following the safe sleep guidelines by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and providing training programs for healthcare team members, and family caregivers.
