A man was arrested in West Plains after an altercation with another man. Joseph Beard allegedly threatened another man with a machete and the two fought. The other man allegedly hit Beard with a baseball bat and Beard bit the man’s left ear. Beard is charged with first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond was set at $100,000. Beard is also charged with probation violations.
