Missouri State to Host Multiple MVC Championships in 2023-24

ST. LOUIS — Missouri State will host at least three Missouri Valley Conference championship events during the upcoming 2023-24 academic year, according to the initial MVC sports championships slate released by the league on Friday, June 23.

The Bears have been selected to serve as the host school for the following MVC Championship events:

  • Individual Women’s Tennis Championships (Oct. 6-8)
  • Volleyball Championship (Nov. 19-22)
  • Men’s Golf Championship (April 21-23)

The regular-season champions will host women’s soccer (Nov. 2, 5) and men’s soccer (Nov. 8, 11), while two spring championship sites (baseball and women’s team tennis) are yet to be determined.

WOMEN’S TENNIS (Oct. 6-8)
For the second year in a row, Missouri State will serve as the host of the MVC Individual Tennis Championships at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. All nine participating schools will converge on the Ozarks for seven singles flights and three doubles flights at the luxury and comfort of one of the region’s top tennis centers, which features 12 indoor and 17 lighted outdoor courts.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL (Nov. 19-22)
Missouri State will serve as the host of the 2023 MVC Volleyball Championship for the first time since 2018 at Hammons Student Center on the Springfield campus. The 2023 event features eight of the league’s 12 teams and will be played Sunday-Wednesday. The No. 1 and 2 seeds shall receive a bye to the Tuesday semifinals, while seeds No. 3 and 4 will receive a bye to Monday. Seeds No. 5, 6, 7 and 8 will play on Sunday.

MEN’S GOLF (April 21-23)
For the fourth time since 2011, Missouri State will host the MVC Men’s Golf Championship at The Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo., Sunday-Tuesday, April 21-23. The 10 Valley programs will play 54 holes on the scenic course near Lake of the Ozarks. Missouri State has previously hosted this championship at Porto Cima in 2011, 2015 and 2019.

Eight different MVC institutions have been selected to host at least one championship with only Missouri State hosting multiple events. The following host sites were also predetermined in Friday’s release:

  • Men’s & Women’s Cross Country (Oct. 27) – Nashville, Tenn. (Belmont)
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving (Feb. 21-24) – Evansville, Ind. (Evansville)
  • Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track (Feb. 25-26) – Chicago (UIC, Valparaiso)
  • Men’s Basketball (March 7-10) – Enterprise Center, St. Louis
  • Women’s Basketball (March 14-17) – Vibrant Arena, Moline, Ill.
  • Women’s Golf (April 14-16) – Waterloo, Ill. (UNI)
  • Women’s Team Tennis (April 26-28) – TBA
  • Softball (May 8-11) – Normal, Ill. (Illinois State)
  • Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track (May 10-12) – Terre Haute, Ind. (Indiana State)
  • Baseball (May 21-25) – TBA
