
The Thayer City Council met Tuesday evening at City Hall. The council first heard from Marge Shipp who wanted to talk about dogs running loose in the city and about cleaning up around several houses in town. The Councill then discussed and agreed to move the August Council meeting to the 22nd. The council had a lengthy discussion about the eclipse on April 8th, 2024, and agreed to put together a committee to discuss preparing for it and the influx of tourists. The City Council approved resolution 23-2 to apply for a USDA Grant to purchase a Battery Ram for the fire department. The Grant is a 75 to 80 percent grant. The Ram cost is $11,500. The city also got an update on the airport that the grant has been approved and work is set to begin next summer. During an open discussion, Mayor Ken Cotham addressed accusations
