The Highway Patrol reports the pickup driven by 48-year-old Christie Smith of Cabool, hydroplaned and crossed the centerline hitting an SUV driven by 60-year-old Timothy Nash of Wright City. Christie Smith was killed in the accident and Nash suffered minor injuries. A passenger in Smith’s vehicle, 23-year-old Megan Smith suffered serious injuries and was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital and then flown to a Springfield Hospital. The accident happened on Highway 63, three miles north of Cabool.
