On August 8th, 2023; Corporal James Nelson, Detective Nathan Long, Ava Police Department Lieutenant Dewayne Butterworth, and future Office Katie Miller arrested Jacob James, age 40 of Ava on an outstanding Douglas County Grand Jury Indictment for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The bond was set at $500-00 cash.
During the booking process, it was discovered that Mr. James also had an existing Ozark PD warrant for Failure to Appear-Failure to Register Motor Vehicle. Mr. James has bonded on both warrants.
