On 07/28/23, Deputy Sherman was conducting patrols in the Bakersfield area. He spotted a vehicle with expired tags drive into a gas station and both occupants quickly exited the vehicle as he approached the vehicle. He was able to wrangle up both and discovered the driver, Brian Mottus, had an active felony warrant for his arrest.
K9 Karo assisted in indicating there was a controlled substance inside the vehicle. Meth and paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Mottus and Amy Poyner were both arrested and booked into jail for the warrant and possession.
