Rob Yanders, a former MSU-West Plains & Missouri State basketball player who went on to develop and impact the lives of many star basketball players in southwest Missouri over the last decade, has died. He was 44.
Yanders started his career at Missouri State-West Plains where he turned in a hall-of-fame career. He averaged 14.1 points, 4.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He led the Grizzlies to a National Junior College Athletic Association Region 16 championship in 1999 and its highest national ranking at No. 2 in 1999-00. He was inducted into the MSU-WP Hall of Fame in 2007.
