
On 09/01/23, Deputy Fortner and Lieutenant Rhoades were patrolling in Bakersfield. They conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with tags that went to a different vehicle. The driver of the vehicle showed signs of intoxication.
He admitted to being over the legal limit. A search of his vehicle revealed a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. Ricky Gibson is a convicted felon. He was arrested and booked into jail for DWI and a felon in possession of a firearm.
On 08/23/23, Sheriff Martin assisted with a traffic stop in Dora. One of the passengers, Lorianna Radake, gave Sheriff Martin a false name because, it was later discovered, she had a warrant for her arrest for possession of a controlled substance. She also had paraphernalia on her person. She was taken to the hospital on an ambulance as she suddenly began to show signs of heat exhaustion.
K9 was requested and indicated the presence of a controlled substance inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed several controlled substances, scales, and paraphernalia. The driver, Justin Akridge, was found to have meth and paraphernalia on his person.
The third occupant of the vehicle, Stephine Link, was also in close proximity to the paraphernalia and drugs. Akridge and Link were arrested and booked into jail for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Radake also will have the same charges sent to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
