The Arkansas State Police reports that 63-year-old Michael Owens was killed when he turned onto Highway 167 from Pfeiffer Road and crossed into the path of the car driven by 38-year-old Brandon Trewyn of Newport. Trewyn is a Trooper. Owens was killed and Trewyn was injured in the accident. Trewyn was taken to White River Medical Center. The accident happened Monday afternoon around 4 in rural Independence County.
