The Highway Patrol reports that 47-year-old Tony Banks and 27-year-old Maeghan Melton both suffered serious injuries and a 2-year-old girl suffered minor injuries when Banks drove off the road and hit a tree. Both Melton and Banks were flown to Cox South In Springfield. The two-year-old was taken to Mercy St Francis Hospital in Mountain View. Banks was also charged with DWIO serious physical injury, Driving while suspended, failure to register a motor vehicle, and no insurance. The accident happened on U.S. 60, one mile west of Montier.
