A Mansfield woman was arrested in Douglas County on Tuesday for drug trafficking

31-year-old Jessica January was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop at Roadside Park. The passenger in the vehicle allegedly did not have identification and gave police a false identity.

Deputies located a zipper case on the ground near the passenger side of the vehicle. The case was opened and intravenous drug paraphernalia was observed. A cellophane wrap was also located that contained a large amount of a white crystalline substance. Within the bag, there were two used syringes and containers that also field-tested positive for Methamphetamine.

On the passenger side of the vehicle; there was also a bottle cap that contained a white crystalline substance. Upon a thorough search of the vehicle; no illegal items were located on the driver’s side of the vehicle. January; finally gave her the correct information and advised that she believed she might have a warrant. January continued to deny ownership of the illegal narcotics. In total 73 grams of methamphetamine were located in the zipper case. Deputies also located a total of 600 milligrams of fentanyl.

January was transported back to the Douglas County Jail where she was placed on a 24-hour hold.

Douglas County Circuit Court charged January with first-degree trafficking drugs or attempts, second-degree trafficking drugs, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Amphetamine or Methamphetamine.

The bond is set at $50,000-00 cash
