The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of an Ava man on drug charges

Thursday morning Deputies served a narcotics search warrant just north of Ava. The search warrant was a continuation of an arrest made a few days prior where a large quantity of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl was seized.
As a result of the search warrant, Sheriff Degase and Deputies seized methamphetamine, firearms, and paraphernalia used to divide and distribute illegal narcotics as well as marijuana being illegally grown.

44-year-old Daniel Byerley of Ava was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Charges are expected for Byrley for Trafficking drugs 1st degree, Trafficking drugs 2nd degree, Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Unlawful use of a weapon while possessing methamphetamine, and Unlawful Possession of Drug paraphernalia
The bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
