47-year-old Edward Eastwood was arrested for allegedly stealing items from the maintenance shed at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne. Eastwood was identified through video at the nursing home. Officers then found Eastwood pulling a trailer and observed items reported stolen. Eastwood fled from police and a chase began lasting about 15 miles. Eastwood allegedly attempted to ram police vehicles several times. When they caught Eastwood he allegedly was in possession of stolen items and narcotics. Eastwood is charged with felony theft of property, breaking or entering, fleeing on foot, aggravated assault, possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance, and possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance. He was taken to the Izard County Jail.
