The West Plains Police Department is warning citizens to lock their vehicles after several vehicle burglaries in the past couple of weeks.
They want to remind you to * Remove the valuables from your vehicle or hide them from plain sight * Lock your car * Take your keys, don’t leave them in the vehicle * Park in well-lit areas or turn on an outside light * If you see something say something by calling the PD. Criminals look for easy targets. You can make it more difficult for them.
Many vehicle burglaries, and to a lesser degree, stolen vehicles, occur as a result of vehicles being left unlocked. Criminals walk through neighborhoods, trying vehicle door handles, hoping to find an unlocked vehicle.
