
On Thursday at approximately 2:20 P.M., West Plains Police Officers responded to 1st Street and Porter Wagoner Blvd., about a person attempting to steal a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers were contacted by witnesses who stated that a male had just pulled a firearm on another female at the store.
Officers then separated both parties, and an investigation was conducted. Upon further investigation, the male was placed in custody for Robbery 1st, Kidnapping 1st, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of Weapon.
The female victim was also taken into custody on other charges not pertaining to this case due to having the Possession of Methamphetamine on her person.
Both parties were arrested with separate charges and are placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges through the Howell County Prosecutors Office.
