The Arkansas State Police report that 93-year-old Phyllis Thompson was killed when the vehicle she was a passenger in failed to yield at a traffic light and was hit by another vehicle. Both drivers, 67-year-old Mark Thompson of Cherokee Village and 30-year-old Matthew Melton of Evening Shade were taken to White River Medical Center in Batesville. The accident happened on Highway 167 at Highway 412 in Ash Flat.
