Former Cherokee Village employee has been arrested on drug charges

A man who the City of Cherokee Village employed has been arrested after allegedly taking drugs from the animal shelter that were meant for a dog there. 47-year-old Mark Anthony Slinger was an employee at the Cherokee Village Animal Shelter and allegedly took Xanax which was prescribed for a dog. Slinger is charged with two counts of controlled substance fraudulent practice. He allegedly admitted to taking the medication
