Willow Springs School is reporting an incident that happened last Thursday when an airsoft gun was brought to school by a student. Superintendent Dr. Marty Spence issued the following statement.
Good afternoon, below is a message from Dr. Marty Spence regarding an incident that occurred today at the middle school.
This message is to make you aware of an incident that occurred today at the middle school. While I cannot provide specific details of this incident due to federal privacy laws, I do believe it is important I share this with you.
It was brought to our attention that a student had an airsoft gun in a backpack on campus. At no time were students or staff in any danger.
Be assured that we are taking appropriate measures to address the situation in accordance with school policies. Our Student/Parent Handbook outlines the disciplinary consequences for possession of items that cause a disturbance in the school setting and the possession of dangerous weapons or look-alike weapons.
