Three People were arrested after a lengthy investigation in Douglas County

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of three people on several felony charges. The three were arrested after an investigation that lasted several weeks and resulted in a search warrant in Ozark County. During the search, several grams of meth were seized. Donnie Merriman was arrested on charges for

Trafficking a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia with bond being set at $25,000 cash only.

As the investigation continued it was determined that a male and female in Douglas County related to the investigation were meeting women on online dating apps and bringing them to Douglas County where they would forcibly rape the women and then extort money from them after threatening to kill them and their families.

Arrest warrants were issued for 36-year-old Brandon Williams and 26-year-old Bailey Abercrombie both of Ava.

Williams and Abercrombie were arrested for Rape 1st degree, 2 counts of Kidnapping- inflicting injury/terrorizing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Creating substantial risk Bond was set at $50,000 cash only for Williams and

at $25,000 cash only for Abercrombie

Williams is a registered sex offender in Douglas County for a prior offense of Statutory Sodomy from 2009.
