The Thayer City Council met last night at City Hall for their regular Monthly meeting.

The Council first approved the paying of bills, then approved adding additional insurance coverage of $1.5 million at a cost of $10,000. The Council then discussed the solar eclipse in April and restructuring the electric and water rates but no action was taken. The Council approved the bid from Cary Stewart Construction for the lift station at Hirsch Feed. That also approved a mandatory license for contractor’s license at a fee of $25 with a $100,000 bond. The council then discussed the backup generator and getting it operational which is estimated to cost around $14,000, with the cost shared by the Water, Sewer, and electric departments. The City Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at City Hall.
