The Highway Patrol reports that 32-year-old Katherine Pine of Pontiac suffered serious injuries and a 6-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries when Pine drove off the road and struck an embankment. Both Pine and the juvenile were taken to Baxter Health. The accident happened on Highway W, three miles east of Pontiac. Pine was also charged with first-degree felony endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanor DWI, careless and imprudent driving, no seat belt, no insurance, and failure to secure a child less than 8 years old in a child restraint or booster seat.
