
A burglar was found hiding in a bathroom of a victim’s home in Batesville. 39-year-old Ernesto Trevino was arrested by police Sunday morning. The victim allegedly told authorities that Trevino had pointed an AR-15 in her face and had threatened to kill her the week before the break-in. When he was arrested officers seized suspected fentanyl and hydrocodone pills from his pocket, and a bottle of codeine, scales, and a ziplock-style bag with fentanyl and a bag of marijuana were found on a living room table with his cell phone and keys. Trevino Is charged with trafficking a controlled substance, residential burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening, and possession of a Schedule 6 controlled substance with the purpose to deliver and two counts of possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance with the purpose to deliver. He is being held in the Independence County jail with a bond set at $750,000.
