The Highway 63 Bridge at Black Rock was shut down for a short time on Tuesday after a man threatened to jump from the bridge. Around 11:30 Tuesday morning the road was closed. The Black Rock Police and Fire, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies, Portia Fire, and ProMed Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene. No name has been released. An Arkansas State Police Crisis Negotiator and a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy were able to convince the man from harming himself, He was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for a mental evaluation.
