OXFORD, Miss. – Matthew Murrell made six 3-pointers and finished with 26 points, and Mississippi rallied from a 10-point deficit to beat Missouri 79-76 on Saturday night.

Sean East Jr. was 6 of 9 from the floor and made all 12 of his free throws to finish with 25 points for Missouri (8-17, 0-12). Tamar Bates added 12 points, and Jordan Butler and Aidan Shaw scored 10 apiece.

Missouri will look to end a 12-game losing streak in a home game against eighth-ranked Tennessee on Tuesday.

 

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Josh Hubbard scored 19 points and 19th-ranked Mississippi State picked up its third straight win, holding off Arkansas 71-67 on Saturday afternoon.

Makhi Mitchell finished with 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Arkansas (12-13, 3-9). Khalif Battle added 18 points.

Arkansas travels to face Texas A&M Tuesday.

 

 

MOBILE, Ala. – Derrian Ford knocked down a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to give Arkansas State the lead and the Red Wolves held on to beat South Alabama 76-73 on Saturday night.

Taryn Todd’s 21 points on 8 of 16 shooting (3 for 6 from 3-point range) led the Red Wolves (13-14, 8-6 Sun Belt Conference). Freddy Hicks scored 12 points while going 4 of 6 and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line, and added six rebounds. Dyondre Dominguez was 5 of 11 shooting (2 for 6 from 3-point range) to finish with 12 points

 

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Chance Moore’s 25 points helped Missouri State defeat Valparaiso 82-74 on Saturday.

Moore added nine rebounds for the Bears (15-12, 7-9 Missouri Valley Conference). Matthew Lee scored 19 points while shooting 8 for 18 (1 for 6 from 3-point range) and 2 of 3 from the free throw line, and added eight assists. N.J. Benson was 6 of 9 shooting and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line to finish with 18 points.

 

WEST PLAINS MO. —The Missouri State West Plains Grizzlies lost to Mineral Area Community College on Saturday 79-54. The Grizzlies dropped to 8-19 on the season. MSU-WP returns to action Wednesday at home with Three River Community College, tip-off is at 7 pm.
