The E-Comm News Network has been informed of a scam telephone call targeting Izard County residents. According to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, the caller claims to be from one of our local energy providers saying that your bill has not been paid and that your power will be shut off. The scam caller then asks for the bill to be paid using an app or a gift card. One of the phone numbers is 601-351-4400. If you receive a call like this, DO NOT give any information or provide payment. You can call your energy provider on their customer service number which can be found on your bill.
