Rape charges for Gassville woman

Charges of rape have been leveled against a Gassville woman.  54-year-old Alice Alaine McLean was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Thursday night.  She turned herself in to county authorities after a warrant was issued for her arrest on February 20th.  The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office along with the Gassville Police Department launched an investigation into McLean’s alleged criminal conduct in early 2022.

The files in the case, when probable cause affidavits contain sensitive information have been ordered sealed by a court order. Rape is a class Y felony, the most serious crime in Arkansas not punishable by the death penalty.  McLean was released the night of her arrest after posting a $50,000 bond with her first hearing in court scheduled for Monday morning.
