
The Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce met Thursday at Penny Loafers. The Chamber discussed an Outdoor Survival Camp at the Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery on March 23rd, a Ribbon Cutting at Simply You Salon at 1:00 pm following the Chamber Meeting on April 11th, Christi Hatman, owner of Hatman Auctions and High Cotton Mercantile, is opening a new store on Main Street, and the annual Chamber Banquet which will be held in April. Meeting called to order at 12 pm
Last Months minutes – Alexis made a motion to approve the minutes with 1 minor change, Patty 2nd, minutes approved
Financial Update:
Shawna – $10,427.22, there are a few outstanding checks bringing the balance to $9,135.06. We have also received some Membership dues that have not yet been deposited.
Old Business:
Trena gave updates on the ribbon cutting at The Dels and also mentioned that the Member Invoices for 2024 have been sent out.
Business Updates:
- Lane Andrews Photography will be at the Truck Pull
- Simmons Bank has a new program they just kicked off – Refer a Friend
- Preferred Home Care – now with 3 location; Corning, Pocahontas, and Mammoth Spring. They are seeking new clients and Aides at all locations.
- Community 1st – prepping for the Eclipse, they will be participating in event in both Thayer and West Plains
- Gnomingo’s Baking Company – currently not taking orders, Sara also gave an update on upcoming events for Camp Quality Arkansas and mentioned they are seeking sponsors for this years summer camp
- Gnomingo’s Design Company – gave an update on current projects including a giant flag for United Country Realty and a Pirate Ship for Camp Quality Arkansas
- Area Wide Media and South Missourian News are currently seeking ads for the Graduate Section
- MS State Park – recently welcomed new Travel Consultant, Piper Richardson. They are currently looking to hire a Floater position as well as someone for the Train Depot
- Bluebird Day currently full with 25 people on the waiting list
- Easter Egg Scramble – March 30th
- Eclipse – April 8th. There will be no overnight camping allowed in the parking lot of the park during the Eclipse and the weekend prior. They will be opening the ballfield for additional parking.
- Flint Knapping is taking place in the Park the weekend of the Eclipse
- Rabies Clinic – April 13th in the parking lot by Simmons Bank, half the proceeds will go directly to the Chamber
- There will be a Military Vehicle Show in the Park on May 4th from 10am-2pm
- Penny Loafers is opening a food truck that will serve coffee and beignets
New Business:
- Outdoor Survival Camp at the Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery on March 23rd is currently full
- There will be a Ribbon Cutting at Simply You Salon at 1:00pm following the Chamber Meeting on April 11th. The Salon is located in the old police station across from Palace Drug and the MS Church of Christ.
- Christi Hatman, owner of Hatman Auctions and High Cotton Mercantile, is opening a new store on Main Street.
- Thayer has asked the Mammoth Spring Chamber take over the planning/hosting of this years Chamber Banquet. We are looking at either Friday, April 12th or Saturday, April 13th.
- Ozark Junior High School from Ozark, AR is doing a class project highlighting all of the Counties in the State. The 3 students assigned to Fulton County, specifically Mammoth Spring, reached out for information and the Chamber sent them a variety of publications and weblinks to help them complete their project.
