A Former West Plains resident was arrested Friday in Ozark Missouri for sexual assault of a child. 77-year-old Skyer Shelton is charged with five counts of victim less than 14 Years Old and one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.
In January, the West Plains Police Department initiated an investigation after a 41-year-old woman identified as Jane Doe, reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Shelton on multiple instances between 1986 and 1989 at a residence in West Plains. Two additional female victims also reported that they each had been sexually assaulted at Shelton’s residence during the same timeframe, on multiple instances. All three victims were identified as being under fourteen years of age at the time of the assaults. Shelton disclosed to detectives that he did sexually assault the three child victims within his residence in West Plains.
