The case proceeds for two Shannon County murder suspects.

It was the day after Christmas of 2023 when 70-year-old William Stucker was shot to death- facing second-degree murder is 26-year-old Patrick L. Paul and 40-year-old Richard M. King-Romero.

Highway Patrol investigators say that Stucker was shot to death at his own home which appears to have been searched for items to steal and they state that the victim’s vehicle was missing- a pickup truck later found in Olathe, Kansas.

According to Paul, they spoke with Stucker for a few minutes, when King-Romero produced a .38, fired three rounds into Stucker’s head and torso out in the front yard.  Paul said that King-Romero demanded to know from the expiring Stucker where the keys to his truck were.  Reportedly, Stucker managed to tell King-Romero that they were on top of the refrigerator.

Paul is scheduled for arraignment today in Shannon County before 37th Circuit Court Presiding Judge Steven Privette. King-Romero’s preliminary hearing was initially set for May 13 before Privette, also in Shannon County but recently, Privette requested a new judge be assigned to the case due to a grand jury indictment.

Both defendants are entering pleas of “not-guilty.”
