
West Plains Police report the arrest of two people after a traffic stop. The stop was made at the intersection of Preacher Roe and Renfrow Street, during the stop K-9 Tito was deployed and gave a positive alert for narcotics. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and a large amount of U.S. currency. A male and a female were arrested and transported to the West Plains Jail and placed on a 24-hour Hold, pending formal charges. The Howell County Prosecutor’s Office charged the male with Unlawful Use of Weapon – Subsection 11 – Possess Weapon and a Felony Controlled Substance, with a bond of $7,500 bond cash or surety. The female was charged by the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for Possession of Controlled Substance Except for 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana, all of which had a $5,000 bond cash or surety. No names were released from the arrest.
