
The Thayer School District recently received a safety and security federal grant, for 1,100 feet of chain-link fencing and additional lighting, including the area around the football field. In an exclusive interview yesterday with ECNN, Superintendent Tonya Woods explained where the fencing was going.
Yet, for several days, locals have been speculating as to what the fencing and lighting is actually being used for; that’s why ECNN spoke to Thayer School Resource Officer Steven Bryant, who wrote the request for the grant, to put to rest any undue conclusions that might be drawn from the building materials amassing at the school.
Mrs. Woods reiterated that the school has wanted to make these improvements for some time and would not be able to without this grant.
