A man wanted in connection to a Willow Springs shooting has been found dead.

Two nights ago, law enforcement was investigating a domestic disturbance where shots were fired.  The suspect in that incident fled the scene and was on the run until last night around 9pm.  That’s when West Plains Police received a tip on 34-year-old Shawn Clark, who had barricaded himself in the dwelling law enforcement was alerted to.  Clark not only refused to comply with orders of crisis and emergency units from the West Plains Police and Howell County Sheriff’s Department that were deployed, to come out peacefully but he was also detaining an adult male and female- they were extracted without injury.  Clark fired multiple rounds at the police and sheriff’s deputies before finally turning the gun on himself, ending the standoff.  Law enforcement sustained no injuries- Clark’s next of kin have been notified.
