Six people took to West Plains’ Court Square this past Saturday to show support for so-called “Palestinians” after Israel ordered a new round of offense in Rafah, in the Gaza Strip.  Handwritten signs held and waved by local protesters read, “Cease fire now”… “No genocide on our dime” and “Free Palestine.”

This latest conflict between Israeli defense forces and displaced Arabs in the area ignited last October following bombings and the open and deadly attacks of Israeli civilians, including woman and children by Hamas.

In a most recent poll conducted by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, Hamas has overwhelming support from the displaced Arabs in Israeli-occupied territory, at 71%.

While the group may have local and regional support, Hamas is recognized by the United States along with seven other nations as a “foreign terrorist organization.”  Also, current maps of the world show no boundaries for any territory or nation referred to formally as “Palestine.”
