Woman in Gainesville wins $50,000 in Powerball drawing

A woman has won $50,000 in the Powerball Jackpot drawing after buying a ticket in Gainesville.

The Missouri Lottery reports a player was in Phillips 66, on  1st St. in Gainesville, when she decided to purchase a Powerball ticket for the May 18 drawing.  Once the drawing had finished, she checked her numbers and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Her ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, plus the Powerball number, to win a prize of $50,000. The winning numbers on May 18 were 19, 36, 37, 42, and 59, with a Powerball number of 19.

In FY23, players in Ozark County won more than $1.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $183,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $156,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
