Baxter County has been added to the major disaster declaration for Arkansans who sustained damage from the severe storms, straight line winds, flooding or in some cases tornadoes; sheriff’s office employees in Baxter County who sustained damages, loss or injuries during the recent tornado are eligible to apply for assistance from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation. The money set aside for relief came about after four women were aware that some of these Sheriff’s Office employees had sustained loss and could use help. Collectively, they raised over $7,000 for employees who sustained loss, damage or injuries have been instructed to provide details to their supervisors, and this information will be forwarded to the committee of the Foundation’s board for consideration of approval.
