In a follow up to a story you heard first here on ECNN, a recent hit and run victim in her own driveway in Sharp County has had a GoFundMe set up on her behalf.
To recap, according to the Cherokee Village Police Department, on May 29th around 9:03 PM, officers responded to the call of a woman who had been run over by a vehicle. The person who phoned in the incident said a red pickup truck. Pulled into the alleged victims driveway, occupants got out of the vehicle. Police say that when the caller opened the woman’s garage, a man, later identified as 25 year old Justin Hale, jumped back into the truck and speed away running over the woman, now identified as Reese. She was airlifted to UMS and Little Rock that night with serious injuries. The truck was found abandoned on 9 Mile Ridge Rd. Hale was found by police, taken into custody, booked into the Sharp County Jail on several charges including assault and battery, as well as leaving the scene of an accident with injury. Reese’s friend Shannon Horton is responsible for setting up the GoFundMe page, and she says that she’ll need help with everyday bills, groceries and lodging and transportation costs for the foreseeable future.
