James Lee Hopkins was found guilty on Monday of starting the fire at the Southwest Baptist Church on June 10, 2023. Multiple fire departments responded to the fire including, Cabool, Houston, Mansfield, Norwood, and Mountain Grove. Authorities say the several rooms had been ransacked before the fire. Hopkins was found guilty of second-degree burglary and first-degree arson. He will be in court in September for sentencing.
