The Highway Patrol reports that 31-year-old Holly Cooke was killed and a 10-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when Cooke hit a cow in the roadway. The accident happened on Highway 5, about 6 and a half miles northwest of Gainesville. The boy was flown to Mercy Children’s in Springfield.
