The Highway Patrol reports that 63-year-old Julia Monroe attempted to exit an innertube, went under the water for a lengthy period, and was recovered by a nearby swimmer. She was pronounced dead at Ozarks Healthcare. The drowning happened about a half mile south of Dawt Mill Bridge.
