
On Wednesday, Texas County Deputies received a report of stolen farm equipment on Brushy Creek Road in the Houston Area. The victim also reported that he found a Facebook marketplace ad showing other equipment that was still in his possession. Deputies arranged a controlled meeting with the suspect by posing as a potential buyer of the equipment. The suspect using a fake profile name agreed to meet in Houston. 32-year-old Shaun Cross arrived at the meeting location and was arrested. Cross was found to be in possession of a large amount of cash and a handwritten bill of sale with a fake Facebook profile name on it. Deputies were able to locate the stolen equipment that had been sold on the marketplace. Cross is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of attempting to receive stolen property. He is being held in the Texas County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
