A man from Stone County was arrested in Baxter County after allegedly threatening to shoot three people and firing a couple of shots. 63-year-old William Eugene Smith of Mountain View was arrested at a residence in Big Flat. While en route to the jail, Smith advised the deputy he was going to kill everyone in the jail, and nobody had better start anything with him. Smith is facing three felony counts of aggravated assault and a felony charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm along with a misdemeanor charge of violation of an order of protection. He also is charged as a habitual offender. His bonds total $100,000.
