
West Plains, Mo. – The Third Annual West Plains Folds of Honor Golf Tournament successfully raised $30,000, which will be used to fund educational scholarships benefitting the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military veterans and America’s first responders. The event was held at the West Plains Country Club on June 21, 2024, with 33, three-person teams participating. This marks another significant contribution to the cause, with a total of $80,000 raised locally in just three years for Folds of Honor scholarships.
Since its inception in 2022, the West Plains Folds of Honor Golf Tournament has been dedicated to supporting Folds of Honor, a nonprofit originated in 2007 that provides scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military and first responders. Since 2007, 52,000 scholarships have been awarded in the United States creating more than $244 million in educational impact. According to the 2023-24 Recipient Data for Missouri and Arkansas, 115 scholarships were awarded to Arkansas recipients and 289 to Missouri recipients. The local impact results in over 1,400 scholarships worth $6.48 million distributed to Missouri applicants and nearly 700 totaling $3.1 million to Arkansas applicants since Folds of Honor was started 17 years ago.
