COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri junior wide receiver Luther Burton III has been named to the Associated Press 2024 Preseason All-American first team, the publication announced Monday.

Burden returns for his third season as Mizzou’s starting wide receiver and is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he finished as a semifinalist for the prestigious Biletnikoff Award. Just a year ago, Burden led the Tigers in receptions (86), receiving yards (1,212) and touchdown receptions (nine). The 2023 First-Team All-SEC choice finished the season second in the SEC ninth in the nation in receiving yards and third in the conference in receptions. His 1,212 receiving yards rank third on the program’s single-season chart, while his 83 receptions rank fourth in program lore.
