On Saturday, at approximately 5:00 PM, Stone County Deputies responded to a report of an individual who had been shot in the Luber area of Stone County. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that the individual had been shot with a small caliber weapon sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The individual was rendered medical care on scene and then flown to Little Rock for further treatment. Deputies subsequently made contact with witnesses and the individual who had shot the firearm for statements and interviews.
While it is still undetermined if the shooting was accidental or intentional, the shooting was an isolated incident, and the public is in no danger. Further details will be released as the investigation continues. The names of the individuals involved are not being released at this time.
